Differentiated questions: Developing, secured and mastered question sets (can be changed to RAG)
Developing takes students through the derivation of the formula
Secured gives lots of practice on picking the correct values to substitute into the formula
Mastered has problems on compound shapes and multiple step area questions to really test students' knowledge of area of triangles.

Great sheet! I added some right angles to the secure section to be on the safe side (with an old fashioned pen before I photocopied it) but I highly doubt that the kids would have worried too much about them not being explicitly stated. We had a quick "why do you think I drew the right angles on" discussion, and got on with the questions. Some people are seriously over-reacting!

Great resource thank you. I have to mention that your other reviewer that left one star and said there was no height to the triangles, missed the fact that these are rotated and that there is a right angle in all triangles.

As others have said, the secure section does not give the height of the triangle, and they aren't right angled.
